Barqs Root Beer Float

Unlike the other two root beer float articles, this one is truly special. It was the way I got my Barqs into the float that made it so popular with the fam. So here goes, lets see if you dig it too.

The thing about Barqs, is that it has an unusual flavour and anything you ad it to will submit to this tastey, spicey overtone. So why fight it. However being a root beer float, we have to consider the carbonation and how we use it. Previously we poured slowly and carefully with full carbonationtion. With my Barqs root beer float recipe, we halve the carbonation before it touches our other ingredients.

Which ingredients? Lets see.....

Icecream. Rum and raisin icecream. It must be fresh, (ben and jerries is great) Place a couple of scoops into your chilled mugs then you can get the chocolate topping. Not too much.

Now get your Barqs root beer and opn the bottle and keep your thumb on the opening. Slowly release the carbonation after shaking it so you soften the air content of the beverage.

Now just pour it on at moderate speed. You want some carbonation but alot less then is usually prepackaged into the product.

This is so the icecream mixes with the barqs but not melts completely in the sizzling fiz.
